Minister of agricultures visit to Iniagrape-one variety
Biofrutales y Fedefruta show the advances of the INIAgrape-one to the Minister of Agriculture

Carlos Furche emphasized “It is very important that the leading national fruit export, such as the grape, has technological innovation developed in Chile”. Juan Carolus Brown, President of Fedefruta y and Consorcio Biofrutales, invited Carlos Furche, Minister of Agriculture to see INIAgrape-one’s table grape arbours in Los Andes, the first grape variety developed completely in Chile along with INIA. It is currently in a successful commercialization stage for growers that are looking for profitable alternatives for their crop areas.
In the meeting Juan Carolus Brown and Rodrigo Cruzat, manager of Biofrutales explained to the Minister the features of this variety, that has over 247 planted acres in different parts of Chile, such as Vicuña, Los Andes and El Tambo.
Rodrigo Cruzat said “We wanted to show the Minister the results of this long cooperation between the industry and the academia, where INIA has worked along with the growers on the INIAgrape-one to get this grape to its full potential.” “We have been working on it for many years and are starting to see the results”.
