The mission of the consortium is to create and develop new fruit varieties through Breeding (conventional genetic improvement) reinforced by the use of Biotools and Genetic engineering which are later incorporated to the private sector for commercialization engineering through scaling and transfer.

The consortium operates through an open innovation model, developing collaborative and coordinated projects with the aim being the fruit industry.
