Chilean grape from San Felipe to England through Fair Trade
PORTAL FRUTICOLA – Chile: Iniagrape-one grape, from San Felipe to England through Fair Trade.
April 26, 2016. A group of 20 small producers from Santa Maria in San Felipe province, who have a Fair Trade certification, have incorporated the new variety of chilean table grape called Iniagrape-one to their production and merchandising.
MiFrutaChile, an exporter composed of small producers, sent their first boxes of the Iniagrape-one variety to England. They arrived two weeks ago, according to the President of the company, Cristian Lepe.
Lepe explained that MiFrutaChile already had had the Fair Trade certification for 6 years, because of an english customer who needed raisins. MiFrutaChile was created with the support of Corfo, and it is a company that works currently with raisins, grapes and most recently with walnuts.
