Genome II – Carmenere
Certain varieties of table grapes, especially Carmenere, present t an irregular formation during the development of the fruit, producing clusters with berries of different sizes. Smaller berries without seeds that do not reach maturity and unable to produce metabolites, significantly affect the quality of the final product.
The project had the aim to continue studies launched in the “Science and technology platform for the development of plant genomics in Chile. Stage I” and to complement them with the launch of new studies to develop a long-term program that allows development of new varieties of Carmenere.
