Genome II – Apirenic
Chile needs to boost genetic improvement of table grape for the production of new varieties, in view of the fact that today the export business depends largely on foreign genetics. These varieties do not always conform to our agro-ecological conditions, and were not developed to withstand long trips or periods of cold storage.
The aim was to study this subject in depth in order to identify genes that act as selection markers for two of the most important characters in the quality of table grapes: the size of the berry and the absence of seeds (apirenic).
