This corresponds to a project that is part CORFO FDI 2002 continuity program. The results and “know-how” of this primary program converge in Biofrutales . Two key themes derive from previous work: genetic transformation of a less recalcitrant species, such as the Japanese plum and a reproducible regeneration and transformation system to genetically modify varieties of peach.

The aim of the project was to introduce candidate genes and promoters in stone fruits to validate the significance of controlling fruit quality.
