Gene Discovery – USM
A key event in bud formation is the development of subsequent inflorescence and differentiation of the floral structures which later result in the fruits.
Although the mechanisms remain unknown, the role of various genes associated with different mechanisms of floral induction in other plants, seems to remain in this species.
The main objective was to identify vine genes involved in latency disruption and induction of flowering. In silico analysis, transcriptome by microarrays, and gene expression by a latency disruption inducer will be performed to determine the genes involved in this process.
