In Vitro Avocado Trees

Chile is positioned worldwide in the avocado industry, but climate change, water stress and rising labour present a challenge. Factors that affect production expansion are the difficulty of mass proliferation and long periods to generate populations and evaluate its fruits, using classical genetic improvement.

The aim of this subproject is to create techniques that promote adequate sustainability of the productive expansion of avocado. This will be achieved through optimization of systems of mass proliferation of various genotypes of productive interest.
